Some businesses receive phone calls from individuals claiming they represent a directory or online listing. Don’t be fooled in giving them your company details. These scammers usually come back to you with an invoice for unrequested directory listings or online adverts that were never purchased.
Does your business associate with Facebook or Paypal? Beware of fake invoices that request money for their “services”. These emails usually resemble real invoices and have fake addresses that can be mistaken for real ones. Always scrutinize an address upon receiving an email and never pay an invoice you don’t recognize.
